Tresemme Keratin 7 day Straigtening Line

Hey Guys,

So today, I wanted to finally post my review on the Tresemme Keratin 7 day Straightening shampoo, conditioner and heat activated treatment.

For the longest time I've had wavy hair, but I'm not the biggest fan of it as I've always wished I had long, straight hair. Although, naturally this is unobtainable for me, it didn't stop me and for years I've been straightening my dreaded waves. Unfortunately, now that I look back on it, this was the silliest thing I could do, especially since when I first started out I didn't use heat protectant. This has resulted in a lot of damage and split ends, which, thanks to my awesome hairdresser, I'm just starting to recover from. 3 years after I started straightening. My point is: Take care of your hair. You can find out more on how to this here and here!

Anyway, so I've been looking for a treatment that could help with keeping my hair straight without any damaging effects That's when I heard of this treatment plan. Originally, the treatment consists of a shampoo, a conditioner and a heat activated serum. The idea is the shampoo and conditioner are the support to the serum. You then use the serum once a week before blow-drying your hair, followed by straightening each individual section of your hair 3-4 times to lock in the treatment. Straight, thin hair is then meant to last for up to 4 washes, before you repeat the treatment.

Although, I found that the treatment did thin out my hair, the treatment for me, didn't even last through one wash. My hair went straight back to being wavy, which I found really annoying, because the promise on the bottle seemed to fail me.

However, I am just one hair type, so I also got my mum and my sister to contribute to using this treatment and gather their thoughts and opinions.

My sister has extremely tight, curly, blond hair. She used this product only for a week because she didn't see the point in continuing with it as straight hair didn't last more than one wash either.

My mum, on the other hand, has blond, short, straight-ish hair. She, like me is currently still using the treatment as it does to contribute to less hair damage when straightening. My mum tried this products in a variety of ways. For the first week, she washed her hair every other day whilst using the products. In her case, the treatment lasted for 1 wash, but after the 2nd, her straight hair disappeared. The next week, my mum then tried washing her hair once a week, due to a recommendation from our hairdresser. The treatment lasted less time than that. A disappointment on both our behalves.

In conclusion, I do still enjoy the products. I think the shampoo and conditioner have a good thinning effect on my hair and the serum helps to reduce the amount of heat damage, but I am disappointed with the lasting effect of the products that were promised. If you have thick hair, I would still recommend these products, as they do smell good and they do work to an extent, just not as long as you would hope.

If you have any other suggestions of straightening treatments or other products for me to review let me know.

Good Luck,

Molly xx
